As the leaves change and the distinct crisp air of autumn descends over Michigan, we bid farewell to summer and hello to fall with gorgeous gourds, colorful dahlias, and the warm colors of changing leaves. This week fleurdetroit welcomed the new season with our Fall Floral Workshop.

The fleurdetroit floral studio is the perfect place to settle in for a workshop on a chilly October night! This month’s project focused on creating a stunning floral centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table and it was a full house. If you missed it, or live too far to join us, see below:

Making a Frog

Step 1 | Cut pieces of curly willow off of main branch. The amount needed will vary depending on the size of your container.

Step 2 | Bunch curly willow together and bend the branches so they begin to create a circle.

Step 3 | Continue to wrap curly willow, creating a circle. Do this until there is no more straight pieces of curly willow.

Step 4 | Place curly willow into container and add water. It is important to add water before beginning to arrange flowers.

Step 5 | Begin your arrangement by adding the greenery first, then add flowers. Tip: Your floral arrangement should be twice the volume of your container.

Step 6 | Enjoy your beautiful arrangement!
