Spring is in full swing in Michigan and we're here for it! With the outdoor temperatures warming up, our indoor decor is beginning to shift to a more bright and sunny aesthetic. In this month's journal, we've teamed up with local design influencer, Lauren Syrowik, who shares her favorite spring pieces in the shoppe to design the sweetest spring tablescape.
Bold Patterns, Mono Floral
The foundation of this tablescape is a printed cotton linen by Pomegranate in the style called 70s Flower. This bold patterned tablecloth features pink tulips, yellow daffodils, and lime green leaves—a perfect spring linen. Coordinating napkins and lime jute placemats tie the entire table setting together. With such a busy tablecloth, the floral is kept simple and complementary. Spring bulb floral choices include muscari, hyacinth and tulips, in addition to lilac and forsythia. The fragrant blooms are arranged in white ceramic bunny vessels and colored glass budvases.
A Low Look
This playful, kid-friendly design is perfect for hosting friends into your home this spring. The arrangements and accents are intentionally lower to promote conversation and activity across the table. The focal, grass-filled bunny vessel is centered in the middle of the table, with the shorter arrangements surrounding. The design spills down the entirety of the table, creating quite a statement upon entering the space.
An Approachable Aesthetic
Lauren works with the neutral colors and warm woods of her dining room, as well as the vast amount of natural light. This approachable look is perfect for a daytime event and could very well translate into the evening with additional candlelight. A mom of two herself, Lauren creates with the mom in mind—an aesthetic that is cute, whimsical, and cozy. This is a fun spring look to put together for entertaining this season!
