Ominous skies and glorious colours—Hello, November! Hello, fellow Scorpio friends!

The first true chilly bite of the season has wrapped around several of our fall nights, and the leaves, in a synchronized ballet, responded with colours only seen in our glorious northern landscape. It is the season of the Scorpio, and all the nesting that the lower temperatures trigger in our souls. Warm cider and the first fires in the hearth are what make this season magical in my mind. As a steadfast Scorpio, born firmly in the middle of November, this in-between transition in the year is my home and comfort zone. Welcome, all, to MY month!

Activities at fleurdetroit are in a state of flux between these seasons. As our landscape teams tie up construction jobs and the maintenance division continues to put properties and gardens to bed for the season, our retail operation is gearing up for the upcoming holiday season. Our highly anticipated retail holiday set is now in the works, and our floral and events department is busy scheduling residential and commercial holiday installations. November, although sleepy and dreamlike in the wild, is quite active within our operation. The Holiday Open House is coming soon, so be sure to mark your calendars! As all our seasoned clients know, the curated looks of the seasons sell out faster each year as our notoriety continues to expand.

Speaking of expanding relevance and recognition, our stylish brand was featured in a stunning spread in Flower magazine this month! Please pick up a copy to see the magic we spread across the country. With a gracious heart, I personally want to thank Margot Shaw, founder and editor-in-chief of Flower magazine, for including our company among the many talented businesses this country has nurtured. After her visit to one of our extraordinary meadow projects in Bloomfield Hills area last year, her team contacted us to learn more about us and our brand. Many thanks to her and her team for the wonderful conversations we had. We are truly grateful for the opportunity!

Please remember to click through and register for one of our last workshops of the season—a perfect gift for that special person who wants to experience creativity with like-minded people. And remember, take a few moments to feel the fall vibes. Kick and trudge through a pile of red sugar maple leaves. Hike through one of the state parks with sharp eyes on the sky, on the lookout for the many raptors and other birds making their way to the southern flyways, and most importantly, breathe in the world—be kind to yourself.
