Suntans, sunburns, those glorious tan lines and summer antics prod at us with Solarcaine bliss, making us feel the thrill of being alive. Ahhh July, how you remind us to relish in the slow pace of these dog days.
Our departments are rotating in the seasonal busyness. Like clockwork, fleurdetroit staff continue to click along, adjusting to the calendar. At the shoppe, we are ready to receive a third container from France, and anticipating the arrival of a wonderful array of Dutch lines from the Paris design show. All the while receiving, yes, HOLIDAY shipments for the 2022 Yuletide season. We have welcomed a new team to the landscape office, and they are busy choreographing new designs with Joe and his industrious installation teams. Darin and his events team are in full stride, producing some truly remarkable fêtes for the senses.
Fleurdetroit truly enjoys community engagement, and continues to support many passionate people and causes that make good things happen in the community. For fun family activities this July, look no further than Cranbrook and Belle Isle!
Currently open for an inaugural run is the miniature golf course installed at the Cranbrook Museum grounds. We are proud to sponsor this gem of an institution with the “Sunken Garden” hole. The Cranbrook House and Gardens is also free to visitors to stroll about, courtesy of PNC Bank and fleurdetroit. And of course, one of our greatest loves is the Oudolf Garden on Belle Isle. The gardens are growing into an impressionist masterpiece of color in this second full growing season.
Speaking of this gem, we have a secret ... “Someone” is coming to visit “his” master work, late in the summer! We will be sure to keep you up to date as the news unfolds!
