We’ve just returned from an unforgettable adventure in Paris at Maison & Objet and Paris Design Week in September 2024! As two passionate buyers for fleurdetroit, Mia and I were eager to immerse ourselves in the world of design and discover exciting new products for our shelves.
First off, it had been years since I last visited Paris—my previous trip was as a teenager, and seeing this gorgeous city through adult eyes was truly magical! From the stunning architecture to the charming cafés lining the streets, every corner of Paris offered inspiration. We were excited not just about the products, but also about the vibrant design community that thrums with creativity and passion.
Entering the show felt like stepping into a treasure trove of inspiration. The exhibits overflowed with stunning textiles, innovative home decor, and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces that captivated us immediately. Connecting with designers and makers from around the globe was exhilarating, and we spent hours soaking up the atmosphere and discussing new ideas and trends.
One of our key goals for the visit was to discover new products that embody the essence of fleurdetroit. We aimed to curate a collection that resonates with our customers' tastes while telling a meaningful story. We’re thrilled to share that we found several new lines we can’t wait to bring back.
What stood out to us most was the sense of community among the vendors and attendees. Everyone was eager to share their experiences and insights, which is what we cherish about events like Maison & Objet. It reminded us that we’re part of a broader world of design enthusiasts who share a passion for bringing beauty into homes.
