These are the days to remember… It’s July in Michigan! These balmy days with scented evening breezes lofting through the open windows cast shadows in our memories, waking our souls, waking our ambitions.

My soundtrack of summer always includes the ubiquitous chill sounds of Seals and Crofts. Their harmonized lyrics instantly open every chakra of my soul and channel peace to every cell of my being. Summertime is the canvas that allows my gardens to dance in the endless days of warmth. I walk the acres of meadow and woodland paths gently humming, “Summer Breeze,” whilst taking in the miracles of nature and my design. In my gardens, I feel the closest to that wondrous spirit that allows all to exalt life.

Where will Lady July find you this season? Hopefully somewhere where your soul will sing and hum your soundtrack to the season. Michigan, with her lakes and forests, gives no one excuses not to bask in the wonder of summer. It is up to us as individuals to take time to be and fully appreciate all that life brings.
