Welcome Lady June

Typically, the seasons help mark time for us in this industry, guiding our to-do lists as the year progresses. When I sat down to write this month’s email, I was gobsmacked to realize it’s already June—and the year that just began is already halfway over! Has summer started, or are we already decking the halls!? 2025 is proving to be a whirlwind—a time-warping season of its own.

Cheers to the jingle, and cheers to a Summer Shandy in your iced mug. Summer Claus is in town, and it’s time to sip the season up before it slips away and we find ourselves planning winter holiday parties.

At fleurdetroit, the summer season has the container team in overdrive, while the landscape department is busily building and planting. It’s all hands on deck as we navigate this fast-moving stretch of the year. What are your plans for your home and garden this season?

This month, we’re thrilled to welcome the Garden Conservancy to our personal gardens in Grosse Pointe. With nearly two acres of historic and thoughtfully planted natural spaces, Stratton House and Gardens is sure to delight even the most seasoned birder or garden enthusiast. As you walk the property, you’re likely to spot our resident wood ducks, green heron, or Blanding’s turtles in the rain garden ponds. The tree canopies are festooned with orioles, and the forest floor comes alive with foraging wrens and other native birds.

This urban oasis for our native friends is a labor of love, and I’m honored to share it with fellow garden lovers. Supporting the Conservancy and its mission has become a true passion project for us. Celebrating the most beautiful gardens across America is a flag I’m proud to wave. Be sure to visit the website and secure your ticket to experience some of Southeast Michigan’s most inspiring gardens.

Welcome, Lady June—and welcome to all our friends as we dive into the summer season at fleurdetroit. Be kind to yourself, and make space each day to do something that makes your spirit sing.
